Sudan cynic

Listening to the radio this morning I heard the President warn Sudan that the U.S. will not avert its gaze from the genocide in Darfur. This is true. We will keep gawking at it displaying the same voyeurism that rubber necker do at the site of a Highway crash.

Things might now get serious as Sudan is threatening to stop the export of gum arabic, and essential ingredient of colas, in retaliation to the proposed sanctions. Will Americans put up with increased cola prices on top of high gas prices. Will we invade Sudan on an caffeine induced high? Will the troops is Iraq still get their quota of sodas?

I think that a limited invasion of Sudan might be necessary in order for SUV drivers to fuel their caffeine needs below $4 a gallon.
